2 More Flu Deaths In Connecticut

(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - Flu activity remains widespread across Connecticut.

New numbers today from the state Department of Public Health show two additional deaths associated with the flu.

That brings to eight, the number who've succumbed since the current season began August 12.

Of those who've died, five were aged 65 and over, two were between the ages of 50 and 64, and one between the ages of 25 and 49.

The latest update covers the week ending January 12.

Additionally, DPH says 433 have been hospitalized for flu.

The department also says there've been over 1,200 overall cases, with 383 in New Haven County and 381 logged in Hartford County.
