HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC and AP) - Hartford police are investigating the city's third homicide of the year.

Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male on Woodland Drive at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

They found a 26-year-old man suffering some sort of chest trauma, although police say it did not appear to be a gunshot wound. There were also no alerts from ShotSpotter, the city's gunfire detection system.

The victim was from Middletown, but police have not released his name pending notification of family.

There was no word on arrests.
