BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (AP) — The sister of two men who were killed in a shooting after an argument broke out at a Connecticut bar are asking for members of their community to unite against gun violence.

Police said Aaron Walker, 43, of Windsor, and Franklin Spencer, 42, of East Hartford, were at Elizabeth’s Bar & Restaurant in Bloomfield when they got into a dispute with another person at the bar early Saturday morning. Police said the fight spilled outside to the parking lot and shots were fired.

One of the men was shot in the chest and the other in the head, Bloomfield police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said they do not believe this was a random act of violence.

Bloomfield police chief Paul Hammick said the men were biological cousins and adoptive brothers.

Eddie Glass, a sister of the victims, said this kind of “senseless” violence must come to an end, WVIT-TV reported.

“We can not bring anyone lost to gun violence back including my two brothers,” Glass said. “We can't bring them back, but we can stop this one step at a time.”
