Two People Dead In Wrong-Way Crash In Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) -- Two people are dead after a head-on collision early Sunday morning along Interstate 91 Northbound.

Police say they responded to several 911 calls on reports of a car driving south in the northbound lanes.

The vehicles collided head on near Exit 26. 22-year-old Albert Correa of Hartford and 34-year-old Jonathan Villalobos of Springfield, Mass., both succumbed to their injuries, according to police.

The highway was closed for several hours as officials tended to the scene.

An investigation into the crash is on-going.
