COLCHESTER, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Several hundred people attended a vigil on Colchester's Town Green to memorialize the four slain members of the Todt family, formerly of Colchester.

Candles were lit and prayers were said at the vigil Friday night, as a community deals with the sudden tragedy.

Police in Celebration, Florida say 44-year-old Anthony Todt confessed to killing his wife Megan, their three children, and their family dog at a home they were renting in Celebration. Authorities found their bodies decomposing in a room on the second floor of the house.

A partially completed autopsy report finds most of the family members were stabbed. Toxicology reports have not been completed. It is not exactly clear when the killing occurred. Todt allegedly told police the killings happened near the end of December, 2019.

Todt is currently held in custody in Florida. He has been under investigation for healthcare fraud at his physical therapy practice in Colchester.
