Bicyclist Hit by a Car in Farmington

Police say Victim Suffered Life Threatening Injuries

(Farmington, CONN. / WTIC Radio)-- A bicyclist suffered a life-threatening injury after being hit by a car in Farmington Tuesday.

Police tell WTIC the crash occurred around 9:45pm at the intersection of Route 177 and Morea Road. The adult victim, identified as 40-year-old Raymond Reyes of Plainville, was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Reyes is listed in serious condition.

The driver of the car, a 17-year-old male from Farmington, was not injured.

Police say he had no passengers in the vehicle at the time.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad is assisting with the investigation.

Police are asking any witnesses to give them a call. Route 177 is closed between Route 6 and Morea/Meadow Road. Drivers can use New Britain Avenue or Coppermine Road as alternate routes.
