Charges Filed In Deadly Waterbury Hit And Run

(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - Waterbury Police have made an arrest in a deadly hit and run from over the weekend.

In custody is 26-year-old Dominique Caraway of Naugatuck.  

Officers say she was behind the wheel when 69-year-old Henry Pearson was struck while attempting to cross North Main Street around 2:30 Saturday morning.

Detectives say the suspect vehicle was located under a tarp with no license plates in back of a Willow Street residence in Waterbury.

Caraway later turned herself in.  Detectives say she initially told them her car had been stolen.

She is charged with evading responsibility resulting in death, reckless driving, tampering with evidence and falsely reporting a motor vehicle theft.

Bond was set at $250,000.
