(Middletown, Conn./WTIC) - Later this afternoon, State Police will hold a news conference on an officer involved shooting that occurred last Tuesday.

A release says the update "is for media only".

Commissioner James Rovella said Monday that video footage of the shooting involving a Hamden officer and a Yale University officer would be released some time this week.

The news conference is planned for 2:30 at State Police headquarters in Middletown.

It was in the wee hours of April 16 that Hamden Officer Devin Eaton and Yale Officer Terrence Pollock attempted to pull over a car that matched one that was reported to have been involved in a robbery earlier.

A female passenger was wounded and suffered non life-threatening injuries.  No weapon was found in the vehicle.

In surveillance video, one officer can be seen firing shots as the car door opens, continuing to fire as he runs from the scene.

Both officers are currently on leave and State Police are continuing their investigation.
