First Responders PTSD Bill Gets Tabled By State Senate

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) - After hours of debate in the state senate last night, a bill that would extend workers compensation benefits to certain first reponders diagnosed with PTSD was tabled.

The bill, which covers police, firefighters, and parole officers, has bipartisan support. However, an amendment from Litchfield Republican Craig Miner, extending the benefits to paramedics who are not part of a fire department, has put the bill in limbo for the time being.

It is unclear if the bill will be called again before the end of the Legislative Session next Wednesday June 5th.
