Four Arrested in Connection with Fight at Buckland Hills Mall

MANCHESTER, CT (WTIC Radio)_ Manchester Police have arrested four people in connection with a number of fights that erupted at the Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

An estimated 200-300 people, mostly juveniles, were fighting both inside and outside the mall which reportedly involved pepper spray.

Manchester Police called in backup from neighboring police departments, including Hartford, Glastonbury, and Vernon.

The mall was closed so police could disperse the crowd.

As police were detaining 19-year-old Dynastee McCoy of Wethersfield, two other women allegedly interfered with officiers. They were identified as 18-year-old Inaeja Williams of Hartford and 18-year-old Naejza Bates of New Britian. The three were charged with Inciting a Riot, Breach of Peace, and Interfering with Officers.

An unidentified 17-year-old male for allegedly having a .22 caliber Taurus 228 handgun tucked into his waistband. He has also been charged with Breach of Peace, Inciting a Riot,and Criminal Trespass.

Police will be present in the mall area for the foreseeable future.

No injuries to the public or responding officers were reported at Buckland.

A similar incident took place at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
