Hartford Police Make Arrest in Friday Evening Homicide

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC) – Hartford Police have make a quick arrest in last Friday’s homicide on 1972 Main Street.

That incident occurring Friday, July 12th shortly after 10:30 p.m. when a Hartford Police Officer was flagged down by a citizen regarding a person assaulted.  Officers later located a single male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from several gunshot wounds.

That victim was identified as 28-year old Anthony Wright.  The Hartford resident was transported to St. Francis Hospital, and was later pronounced deceased at 11:17 p.m.

Following the incident, detectives from the Major Crimes Division, Capital City Command Center and Crime Scene Division investigated the incident and late Saturday evening, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Antoine Keaton with Murder and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

The 27-year old Keaton was located and arrested on Monday by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and members of the Hartford Police Violent Crime Unit.

He was taken into custody without incident and remains in custody on a $750,000.
