FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTIC) Although the regular minor league baseball season may be over for the Hartford Yard Goats, their commitment to the local community is still in play.

On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Hartford Yard Goats will be hosting what they are calling the “largest trick-or-treat community event in the state.”

The Yard Goats Halloween Trick or Treat, which is free and open to the public, will be held rain or shine at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford from 12 noon until 3 p.m.

“We thought this would be a fun event for the community to get involved in,” said Jeff Dooley, play-by-play announcer and voice of the Hartford Yard Goats. “Kids 12 and under can participate, of course the parents are invited as well.”

Halloween themed activities for kids include a costume contest and candy being handed out from community participants.

The Hartford Yard Goats are hoping for about 40 local businesses and organizations to take part in the event.

“Hopefully everyone will take in the Halloween spirit,” said Dooley.

Businesses interested in getting involved with the Halloween party can contact Jessica Gorman, Hospitality and External Business Coordinator for the Hartford Yard Goats, by phone at (860)-240-5537 or via email at jgorman@yardgoatsbaseball.com.
