NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State police say a Massachusetts man has turned himself in to face charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian a year ago.

Matthew Spirito, 33, of Northborough, Mass. is charged with evading responsibility, misconduct with a motor vehicle, and failure to drive in the proper lane, in connection with the crash that killed Krystal Riske of Pawcatuck, said police. He turned himself in Thursday morning, said police.

Riske, 25, was struck on Route 2 on the evening of October 9, 2018. She died at the hospital the next day.

Spirito was held on $100,000 bond pending arraignment Thursday in New London Superior Court.
