(Wallingford, Conn./WTIC) - Wallingford police have made an arrest in connection with death of a town resident last month.

Under arrest is 21-year-old David Diaz-Perez.

He is charged in the death of his nephew,17-year-old Nolvin Diaz.

The teen was found submerged in Community Lake by a pair of kayakers on May 3, eight days after he was first reported missing.

At the time, police say Nolvin had numerous physical injuries and had a belt tied around his neck.

Investigators say they interviewd Diaz-Perez Monday, at which time he provided details of the killing and showed officers where it took place, adding that the incident occurred April 23 but that he'd gone back May 2 to drag Nolvin's body into the lake.

Diaz-Perez is charged with murder and is being held on $2 million bond.

He's due in court in New Haven on Wednesday.
