BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Forty degrees with no chance of precipitation. That's the forecast for Bloomfield Monday--- at least in the two temperature-controlled rooms at Grote & Weigel meat company.

Operations Manager Kevin Gatti says chilled rooms are an added job perk when the temperature soars.

"You don't feel too cold when it's in the middle of the summer," he said. "In the winter time, it definitely affects you a little more. You feel colder than normal, but it's actually nice. You feed good. You feel productive. You keep on your feet. You keep moving."

However, Gatti adds, it's a rude awakening when you walk outside. Ninety-five degrees feels more like 150, when you work in a cooler all day, he said.
