(WTIC-AM) -- A body was found in the Connecticut River before 11 am today.  The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has confirmed that the body is that of a missing swimmer, Edwin Adino of Meriden.

The body was found a short distance from the Chester Ferry, downstream from where a swimmer went missing in the water Sunday evening.

The search for the 42-year-old Andino later became an effort to recover his body.

EnCon Police are investigating the death.
