Commuter Bus Involved In Crash In Waterford

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) -  Police say six people were taken to area hospitals after a crash involving a commuter bus and a car in Waterford Thursday morning.

The Southeast Area Transit District says one of its buses was involved in the crash on Route 32, shortly after 8:15 a.m. in the Quaker Hill section of town. Police say five people on the bus, including the driver, along with the driver of the car were hospitalized. Some of them were taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, while the others were taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich.

Police say the driver of the car suffered serious injuries; the others suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The State Police Truck Squad is part of the investigation.
