CT Correction Employee, Tests Positive for COVID-19

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ An employee within the Connecticut Department of Correction tests positive for COVID-19 Virus.

In a statement Monday, the DOC says a positive Coronavirus test results came back Monday for an employee assigned to the Garner Correctional Institution in Newtown.

The employee last entered Garner on Tuesday, March 17, and has been self-monitoring since Wednesday, March 18.

Information about the person, including name and age, are not being disclosed by the DOC due to HIPAA regulations.

Effective Monday, March 23, essential personnel granted entry to any Department of Correction facility will have to pass a wellness screening. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4 degrees fahreinheit will not be granted entry to the facilities.
