Danbury Courthouse Closes After Positive COVID-19 Test

DANBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Danbury courthouse was closed Wednesday after the Judicial Branch learned that an employee tested positive for COVID-19, according to Chief Court Administrator Patrick L. Carroll III.

The courthouse was immediately closed for comprehensive cleaning and will be closed until further notice, Carroll said in a statement.

All cases have been transferred to the Waterbury GA Courthouse, effective Thursday, March 26. 

The individual that tested positive is an employee of the Danbury courthouse clerk's office located at 146 White Street.

As of 2 p.m Wednesday, Connecticut officials reported 875 confirmed cases and 19 deaths of COVID-19.
