(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - A program investing in remote learning for Connecticut students is ahead of schedule, according to the governor's office.

Eighty-one-thousand devices, internet access for 60-thousand students and 200 public hotspots are all part of the administration's Everybody Learns Initiative.

That, along with 60-thousand Dell laptops provided by the Partnership for Connecticut means the state has provided 141-thousand devices for high-need districts and students.

All of the hotspots--over 12-thousand--have been delivered.

Lamont says from the start of the pandemic, the goal was to ensure those students who needed the tools received them for as long as the emergency lasts.

Everybody Learns was launched in July.

All told, $43.5 million was made available through the Coronavirus Relief Fund, the Emergency Education Fund, and the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.
