EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - After calling the death of a 73-year-old man "suspicious", East Windsor police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.

Police say they found Halsey Hesse Jr. Wednesday with multiple stab wounds to his body in the kitchen of a Fairway Drive residence and found the circumstances surrounding the death as "suspicious."

After executing a search warrant late Wednesday night and conducting ongoing interviews, officials say they are now closing in on a potential suspect.

However, police are still actively investigating the incident.

Police say they believe there is no danger to the public, because they believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.

According to officials, police found Hesse when responding to a report from a family member who called at around 8 a.m. Wednesday after not being able to contact the resident for some time.

Police say they will provide additional information as the investigation continues.

Officials made the announcement via Facebook with a video update.
