Fire Strikes Torrington Restaurant

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) -  Firefighters say a two-alarm blaze at a Torrington restaurant has been knocked down.

The fire at Marino's Italian Restaurant on Pinewoods Road broke out shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday morning. The business was closed at the time.

Flames could be seen shooting from the building's roof.

One firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury while battling the fire, according to authorities.

Crews from Harwinton and Winsted assisted Torrington firefighters in knocking down the fire.

The restaurant has been in business since 1957, according to its website.
