WINDSOR, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Just after 12 p.m. on Sunday, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, along with the Department of Public Health and local health officials, responded to a discharge of firefighting foam into the Farmington River in Windsor, originating from Bradley International Airport.

The public is advised not to come into contact with the foam on the river or the river banks, and not to take fish from the Farmington River near Poquonock Avenue and south to where it enters the Connecticut River.

The advisory will remain in place while officials evaluate the impact to the watershed.
