HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The Hartford Yard Goats announced Tuesday that the 2020 season has officially been canceled.

Minor League Baseball informed the team of the cancellation which Yard Goats officials called not surprising but still disappointing.

Officials say plans are underway for the 2021 season, including an Eastern League All Star Game at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford.

As for this summer, officials say the baseball club is planning to host events and private rentals at Dunkin' Donuts Park.

A Yard Goats representative will be reaching out soon to those who purchased tickets for a home game this season, officials say.

According to a Hartford Yard Goats press release, the team "became the first minor league baseball club in Connecticut history to attract over 400,000 plus fans in consecutive seasons."
