HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A 12-year term limit would be imposed on legislative seats and statewide elective offices under a proposal from Rep. Kurt Vail (R-Stafford Springs).

Insisting more turnover in state government would be a good thing, Vail has proposed amending the state constitution to impose the term limits.

However, he concedes the proposal faces an uphill battle, as few politicians are enthusiastic about imposing term limits on themselves.

The proposed resolution has, so far, not drawn any co-sponsors.
