Man Killed In Vernon Crash

VERNON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Vernon police say a local man was killed in a crash between a box truck and a car on Route 30 early Monday morning.
Police say the crash occurred in the area of Merline Road, where a BMW sedan and the truck collided. The driver of the car, a Vernon resident, was pronounced dead at Rockville General Hospital, said police.
The driver of the truck was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford with serious injuries, said police.
The names of those involved were not immediately available.
The crash closed the road for hours, but it has since reopened.
