(WTIC-AM) -- A disciplinary hearing has been scheduled in Hartford for Donald Trump's former presidential campaign manager Paul Manafort.

A judge set a hearing in Hartford Superior Court for January 15, in the state Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel's proceeding against Manafort.

The disciplinary counsel handles complaints against lawyers. Manafort was admitted to the bar in Connecticut in 1974.

The state disciplinary proceeding is based on the New Britain native's guilty plea  to federal accusations of money laundering, tax fraud, failing to register as a foreign agent, and lying to federal investigators.

So far, Manafort has not responded in court to the state proceeding focused on his law license.

Meanwhile, in the criminal case, Manafort's plea deal with prosecutors fell apart after he allegedly lied to federal officials.

The president says he has not ruled out pardoning Manafort from his criminal conviction.
