NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Naugatuck police are investigating a report that a suspicious vehicle approached two boys waiting at a bus stop Monday, and that a man inside tried to lure them with candy.

A boy tells police that the "work style" van with tinted windows approached him and another boy at their bus stop at New Street and Hillside Avenue around 8 a.m. A deep male voice from the driver's side of the van asked the boys if they "wanted candy," and stated that the van "would bring them to it" if they got inside, one of the boys told police.

Both boys immediately fled the area and reported the incident, said police.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, however no contact was made with a van matching the description, they said.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact Naugatuck police at 203-729-5221 or the department's Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.
