(WTIC-AM) -- New Britain-based Stag Arms Monday announced it is moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming by the end of the year.

Earlier this year, the gun-maker announced it intended to leave New Britain. At the time, it did not say where it was headed.

Stag Arms says Wyoming is incredibly hospitable to business.

The AR-15-maker says Wyoming is also a top destination for hunting and shooting sports with unwavering support for the second amendment.

Back in December of 2015, the company pleaded guilty to possesing an unregistered machine gun.

Stag was sentenced to pay a $500,000 fine, and the company's owner sold the firm to White Wolf Capital as part of a plea deal.

The company recently announced a new line of significantly smaller firearms, parts of which resemble the AR-15.
