CONNECTICUT (WTIC Radio)_ After a rainy Halloween, a combination of wind and downed trees puts tens of thousands of Connecticut residents in the dark.

Trees have fallen into wires and onto roads, closing various roadways in Avon, Eastford, Redding, Bolton, Seymour, and other cities / towns.

The number of customers without electricity in Connecticut continues to rise. As of 6:00 a.m., Eversource reports that about 82,000 customers are without power.
