Rockville High School Teen Stabbed

WTIC 1080 NEWS -Vernon Policewere called to a residence on Union Street around 10:15 friday night for a reported stabbing. Officers found a 17 year old male stabbed multiple times in the torso, legs and head.

The victim was brought to Rockville General Hospital and later transferred to CT Children’s Medical Center.  He is currently in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.  He is a Rockville High School student.  The stabbing likely happened on the Rails to Trails near the Ryefield Apartment complex. It is believed the victim was known to the assailants and it was not a random act. 

Shortly after the stabbing, Vernon officers located a vehicle in the Terrace Drive apartment complex that was believed to be involved and found a hunting knife, a baseball bat, and a wooden pole that had knife blades taped to both ends in the vehicle. Police arrested Haley Machholz, age 19, of 77 Sunnyview Dr, Vernon; Jakwai Sosa, age 20, of 277 Martin St, Hartford; and a 15 year old Vernon youth who were in the vehicle. They were charged with possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Machholz posted a $100,000.00 bond and will appear in Rockville court on September 24th. Sosa is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000.00 bond and will appear in Rockville Court on September 16, 2019.

The juvenile is being detained in juvenile detention and is not being identified due to his age.  The incident remains an active investigation.
