LYME, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Three and a half weeks after a 53-foot sailboat sank in Hamburg Cove in Lyme, salvage crews, Wednesday, were working to raise the boat.

Divers planned to lift the vessel with the help of inflatable floats. It's unclear why the boat sank.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the boat will be towed to a marina about four miles upstream and removed from the water.

There are roughly 50 gallons of diesel aboard the boat and environmental officials are closely monitoring for any leaks.
