Stabbing, Shooting, Bank Robbery Incidents In New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) -- New Haven Police are investigating three crime-related incidents that occurred within hours of each other on Saturday.

Officials say the first involved a shooting that took place around 1:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of Quinnipiac Avenue. The victim is a 44-year-old man who was taken to Yale - New Haven Hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

He is listed in critical condition, police said.

The second was a stabbing that occured around 1 p.m. near Dixwell Avenue and Sherman Parkway, according to police.

The victim is a 46-year-old city man who was taken to Yale - New Haven Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Two men were taken into custody in connection with the incident. Criminal charges are pending for both suspects, police said.

Police also said a Wells Fargo Bank was robbed around 9:45 a.m. on Foxon Boulevard. The suspect is described as a stocky build black male in his late 30’s to middle 40’s in age, about six feet tall, bald or clean shaven head with a gray and black beard.  He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, lighter gray hooded sweatshirt, and white sneakers. During the robbery, the man’s head and face are covered by the sweatshirt hood and a scarf or mask, according to police.
