(Westport, Conn./WTIC Radio) - Westport Police have charged a teenage boy with second-degree threatening after he was overheard making threats to shoot a teacher and possibly carry out a mass shooting.

The Staples High School student's name has not been released because he's a juvenile.

The arrest stems from an incident on Feb. 27. The boy was interviewed that day and it was confirmed that he did have thoughts of executing a mass shooting at the high school.

The boy turned himself in Tuesday without incident and was due in court later in the day.
