State Health Officials Report Two Flu-Related Deaths

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut has recorded two deaths so far this flu season.

The deaths, which occurred between November 3 and 9, both involved residents over the age of 65-- one each in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties, according to the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Forty-seven people have been hospitalized with flu-related illnesses so far this flu season.

Seasonal flu viruses can be detected throughout the year; however, seasonal flu activity generally begins as early as October and November and can continue through late May in Connecticut.
