State Police Troop Make Drug Arrest

Plainfield, Ct. - WTIC 1080 News - Around 2:40 Saturday afternoon, members of the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 KIA Soul for a traffic violation that occurred on I-395 northbound in Plainfield. The traffic stop occurred as the vehicle turned off the highway and on to Lathrop Road. When Troopers approached the vehicle, they identified the operator as, Richard Bourey who Troopers knew had a suspended operator’s license. The front seat passenger and vehicle owner was identified as Samantha Holly.  Troopers observed indicators of criminal activity and both occupants gave inconsistent stories of where they were traveling from. K-9 was deployed to conduct a sniff of the vehicle and a person sniff of both the vehicle occupants.  K-9 strongly alerted to the front pants area of Samantha Holly and a female Trooper subsequently located approximately 20.4 grams of prepackaged “crack” cocaine hidden on her person.   During a search of the vehicle approximately $892.00 dollars in US Currency was also located and seized.  Bourey was taken into custody and released on a $500,00 non surety bond and was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under Suspension.  Holly was taken into custody for Possession of “Crack” Cocaine and Possession of “Crack” Cocaine.  Holly was processed and held on a $50,000 dollar bond and remanded into the custody of Parole and transported to the York Correctional facility.
