State Trooper Arrested In Rhode Island

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A Connecticut state trooper has been stripped of his police powers after he was arrested in Rhode Island.

Trooper Marwing Pena was arrested by police in Pawtucket, on charges of disorderly conduct and simple assault, state police announced Thursday morning. Pena was due to be arraigned later Thursday.

Pena has been stripped of his service weapons, badge, identification and cruiser, and has been suspended from his job, said police.

Pena joined the state police force in 2018.
