STAMFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Stamford police have made an arrest in a car crash over the summer that killed two teenagers.

It was before dawn on Aug. 26 that the 2008 Nissan Altima loaded with young people slammed into two utility poles near Canal and Ludlow streets, said police. NiShawn Tolliver, 18, and Kymani Pollack, 19, both of Stamford, died in the crash. Other occupants sustained serious injuries.

Now, police have arrested the driver. Jerry Diaz, 18, of Stamford, faces charges including second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and DUI.

Police say speed and alcohol were both factors in the crash.
