Teenage Boy Shot in Apparent Robbery Attempt in East Haven

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - East Haven police are investigating an apparent robbery attempt after a teenager was shot Thursday.

Officials say the 14-year-old boy was shot in the chest around noon in an alley near Thompson Avenue and Grove J. Tuttle Elementary School, after which he went to a friend's house on French Street. 

WTNH reports the boy was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital by an ambulance from the friend's house where he is in stable condition. 

Officials say they are still searching for suspects. ​
