Three-Year-Old Struck by Car in New Haven is Stable

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - New Haven Police report a three-year-old boy is in stable condition in the hospital after a vehicle struck him Saturday evening. 

Police found the boy with visible signs of injury when they responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Cassius Street between Cedar Street and Howard Avenue.

Officials say investigation shows there was a physical altercation between several women. 

They say the offending group left in a vehicle, drove around the block and returned to drive onto the sidewalk toward the other group.

The vehicle then struck the boy and fled the scene. The boy was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

No other pedestrians were injured, according to city police.
