Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust, Arrests In Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Conn.  (WTIC Radio) -- State Police say two people were arrested after a traffic stop turned into a drug bust.

Members of the Troop D - Quality of Life Task Force conducted the stop around 4:20 p.m. Saturday near the area of I-395 Northbound and Lathrop Road.

One of the troopers identified the driver as Richard Bourey, 37, of Plainfield to be operating a 2011 KIA Soul with a suspended license.

A search of the vehicle revealed that the passenger, 33-year-old Samantha Holly of Danielson was hiding 20.4 grams of prepackaged crack cocaine in her pants.

Troopers also retrieved approximately $892.00 during the search.

Bourey was charged with operating a vehicle while under suspension. He was released on a $500,000 non-surety bond. Holly was charged with possession of narcotics and remains held on a $50,000 bond.
