Troopers Make 14 DUI Arrests During Enhanced Patrols

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police have so far arrested 14 motorists for driving under the influence during enhanced Fourth of July weekend enforcement efforts.

Troopers say two of the motorists arrested for DUI were involved in crashes.

Between Wednesday evening and Friday morning, troopers had also issued 137 speeding tickets and five seat-belt citations.

In addition, nearly 300 tickets were issued for other hazardous moving violations, such as tailgating and unsafe lane changes.

Stepped-up enforcement efforts continue through Sunday.
