STORRS, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - UConn men's basketball sophomore guard Christian Vital will declare himself eligible for the 2018 NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent, the school announced Friday. He will seek feedback from the NBA, but will retain the option of returning to school for his junior season. He will have until May 30 to make that decision.

“I want to thank my UConn family for allowing me the opportunity to be in this position,” Vital said. “I do want to see what my options are and take it from there.”

Vital of Queens Village, NY, played in all 32 games for the Huskies last season, starting 23, averaging 14.9 points, 1.6 steals, and leading the team in rebounding, at 5.4 per game.
