STORRS, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ The University of Connecticut updates its travel policies amid the latest coronavirus concerns.

In a statement Friday, UConn announces travel registration via an online form for faculty, staff, students, and affiliates returning from or planning any international travel. After submitting the form, individuals may be contacted directly by UConn staff if there are specific actions that need to be taken.

UConn is now suspending all university-sponsored travel to Level 2 and Level 3 CDC-coronavirus nations. Restricted nations include China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran. Previously, UConn had barred official travel to Level 3 nations only. Those returning from a Level 2 or Level 3 country may be required to sulf-quarantine for a 14-day period upon return to the United States.

The university urges students to exercise great caution when making any travel choices, in general.
