SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police in Massachusetts have recovered two stolen guns in two separate arrests.

Springfield police say officers first responded to a report of a man with a gun around 7 p.m. Monday and saw a man acting suspiciously in a vehicle.

Officers cleared the car and found a loaded gun under the floor where 32-year-old Jose Vargas was sitting. Police say the gun was reported stolen in New Hampshire.

Police pulled over another car wanted in connection to a separate incident around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say officers saw 26-year-old Luis Gonzalez-Miranda reaching toward the center console, and they searched the car and found a loaded gun. The gun had been reported stolen in Connecticut.

Both men are facing multiple weapons charges.

It's unclear if they have an attorney from a search of electronic court records.
