Police Release ID Of New Haven Homicide Victim

(New Haven, Conn./WTIC) - Police in New Haven have released the name of a man who was killed when gunfire erupted that left a high-ranking officer wounded.

The dead man has been identified as 46-year-old Troy Clark of West Haven.  

Officers say he was the person shot when off-duty Captain Anthony Duff came upon the shooting scene at Dixwell Avenue and Henry Street Monday night.

Duff sustained several gunshot wounds and underwent surgery.  He is recovering in Yale New Haven Hospital.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with any information is urged to contact New Haven Police.
