(New Britain, CONN. / WTIC Radio)-- A theatre professor at Central Connecticut State University is the subject of sexual misconduct allegations.

The CCSU campus newspaper The Recorder, published a story Monday detailing the allegations of 8 women who are former students at the school. They involve professor Joshua Perlstein, and date back to 1998, 6 years after Perlstein was hired at Central.

In one incident told to the paper by an accuser, in 2004 Perlstein took her out to lunch and kissed her on the cheek. Then, he gave her a hug and grabbed her buttox. The student filed a complaint with the University. Perlstein was found to have a violated the school's sexual harassment policy. CCSU still lists him as a professor.

CCSU President Zulma R. Toro said in a statement Tuesday she has directed school officials to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
