Shooting Leaves Man Wounded In New Haven

(New Haven, Conn./WTIC) - New Haven police say it was likely a domestic incident that led to an early morning shooting in the Elm City.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Winchester Avenue and Ivey Street on a report of shots fired.  

That incident occured inside an apartment house in the 600-block of Winchester Avenue, according to police.

That's where they found 32-year-old Jonathan Lee Pickett of West Haven.

Police say Pickett sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and hands which were deemed non life-threatening.

There were four children inside the home at the time but police say they weren't harmed.

The investigation is continuing.
