FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTIC) 30 South Windsor children participating in a YMCA before-and-after school daycare program have been relocated to a facility in Vernon citing safety concerns.

The move comes after the YMCA of Greater Hartford learned that the president of the board of trustees of a South Windsor synagogue, the original planned daycare location, is a registered sex offender in Connecticut.

The Journal Inquirer reports that Jason Wasserman, who oversees Temple Beth Hillel, was arrested in 2008 in an undercover police sting operation. Wasserman went to Glastonbury expecting to meet up with a 13-year-old girl for sex.

In 2010, Wasserman was convicted of risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor with a computer.  He received suspended sentences and probation at that time.
