BERLIN, Conn. (WTIC) - With a heat wave expected to grip Connecticut this weekend,Eversource says it's prepared to handle the increased strain on the power grid, as people crank up their air conditioners and fans.

The utility says it's conducted checks of overhead and underground lines, and crews are ready to respond to any outages.
